Fed Report Hints at Small Signs of Economic Recovery

The Federal Reserve says business and consumer confidence 

has risen slightly since the war in Iraq, particularly in 

Kansas City, Dallas, New York and Minneapolis. But it also warns 

that much of the country is still struggling with "sluggish, 

subpar or subdued" economic growth. The Fed will use the data from 

its survey of economic conditions when it sets interest rates in late June.

連邦準備理事会は企業と消費者のマインドがイラク戦争以来少しずつではあるが

向上してきていると発表した。その傾向は特にカンザスシティ、ダラス、ニューヨーク、

ミネアポリスで顕著になっている。ところがアメリカの大半が依然としてゆるやかな

経済回復に苦しんでいるとも付け加えた。連邦準備理事会は６月後半の金利決定の際この

経済状況の調査からデータを利用するとしている。
